It is easy to hang around and befriend those who share our interests and views. There is nothing wrong with liking those who are similar to us. However, as Christians, we should be a beacon of light for those who are different from us. Those who have different views should see us and feel the love of God that is within us, not feel judged and condemned. If the person is not right with God, God will convict them. As Christians, we forget that Jesus spent most of his time conversing with non- believers and those who were outcasts by society. If we only socialize with Christians, how do we reach non-believers? If we push people out of or prevent people from entering the church who are spiritually sick, how can we heal them?

It is easy to love those who love you and bless those who bless you. But the Bible states, “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” (Matthew 5:44The Bible further states that we have the opportunity to do good to all people (Galatians 6:10). I know it is hard and the struggle is real, but with the help of God, it can be done.

I urge you, to let the fruit of the Spirit shine as you go out into the world. Be the person God designed you to be. You were designed to be a vessel for God.  As you live in this world, there will be laws created and overturned, but this is something you can do no matter what law is in place. Galatians 5:22-23 states,  “the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
